The safety inspection before using an aerial work basket is a crucial step to ensure operational safety. The following are the key points that need to be inspected:
1. Inspection of cradle structure
Metal structure: Inspect the main frame, cantilever, suspension mechanism, etc. of the hanging basket for any deformation, cracks, or corrosion.
Welding points: Ensure that all welding areas are secure, without any cracks or loose welding.
Connecting parts: Check whether connecting parts such as bolts and pin shafts are fastened, loose, or missing.
2. Safety device inspection
Limit switch: Test whether the upper and lower limit switches are sensitive and effective.
Safety lock: Manually test whether the safety lock can be triggered normally to ensure that the basket can be locked in case of wire rope breakage or inclination.
Emergency stop button: Verify whether the emergency stop function is working properly.
3. Steel wire rope and hoist
Steel wire rope: Inspect for broken wires, wear, rust, or twisting deformation, and ensure the rope end is securely fixed.
Hoist: Conduct an operational test to check for any abnormal noise, jamming, or overheating, and assess the braking performance for its effectiveness.
4. Suspension mechanism
Counterweight: Confirm whether the number of counterweights is sufficient and whether they are firmly fixed (temporary substitutes such as sandbags are prohibited).
Support stability: Check whether the front support is vertical and whether the balance of the rear support is adjusted properly.
5. Electrical system
Cable and plug: Check whether the cable is damaged, and whether the plug and socket are waterproof and in good contact.
Leakage protection: Test whether the leakage protection device is effective.
6. Environmental inspection
Operation area: Clear obstacles below and ensure there are no dangerous sources such as high-voltage lines or sharp objects.
Weather conditions: Operations are prohibited when the wind speed exceeds level 6 (approximately 10.8 m/s) or in rainy or snowy weather.
7. Personal protective equipment
Safety belt: Operators must wear safety belts that meet the standards and ensure that the hanging points are secure.
Safety helmets and anti-slip shoes: Check if they are fully equipped.
8. Trial operation test
Operate the hanging basket without load to check whether the lifting and lowering are smooth and whether there are any abnormal vibrations or noises.
Simulate triggering the safety lock to verify its response speed and reliability.
